The WATRS Plus route structure redesign of 50 NM lateral separation and associated operational policies has been implemented. WATRS Plus CTAs are: the West Atlantic Route System (WATRS), the Atlantic portion of Miami Oceanic and the San Juan CTA/FIR.
The WATRS Plus area is defined as beginning at a point 27°00'N/77°00'W direct to 20°00'N/67°00'W direct to 18°00'N/62°00'W direct to 18°00'N/60°00'W direct to 38°30'N/60°00'W direct to 38°30'N/69°15'W, thence counterclockwise along the New York Oceanic CTA/FIR boundary to the Miami Oceanic CTA/FIR boundary, thence southbound along the Miami Oceanic CTA/FIR boundary to the point of beginning. These coordinates are taken from FAA Order 7110.65 (Air Traffic Control).
The WATRS Plus area has a requirement for equipage with at least two Long-Range Navigation Systems (LRNS) Meeting RNP-10 Standards. RNP-10 authorization requires aircraft equipage with at least two LRNS with functionality and display adequate for the operation.
This manual provides the operational compliance, guidance, and continued airworthiness procedures required to become RVSM and RNP-10 approved for the Western Atlantic Route System (WATRS) Plus and Northern Canadian Airspace (NCA).
This manual is applicable for operators who flight plan mainly in domestic US airspace with occasional flights to Bermuda, Caribbean, Canada, and Mexico wanting to meet FAA RVSM and RNP-10 approval requirements.
Addresses the organization and control procedures for the manual. All regulatory references and guidance material are listed as well as the area(s) of application. This section also includes the initial and recurrent training syllabus and RVSM definitions. WATRS Plus areas of application (CTAs), including graphics, have been added. ICAO Flight Planning procedures have also been explained. RNP-10 Requirements have been added.
Describes in detail the operations procedures for flightcrews conducting flight into RVSM airspace. Procedures are organized by phase of flight (Preflight, Inflight, and Postflight). TCAS operations, phraseology is included, if applicable. Aircraft Long Range Navigation Systems (LRNS) have been added along with LRNS flightcrew and track-keeping procedures for RNP-10 operations.
Includes basic concepts for contingency procedures in RVSM airspace. Scenarios with pilot actions listed as reference. A few examples of contingency procedures are Wake Turbulence Offset, Weather Deviation, TCAS Alerts, Altimeter Errors, Loss Communications, and Survival and Rescue. WATRS Plus Basic Inflight Contingency Procedures (RNP-10) are now included.
Consists of all required RVSM Maintenance Operations Procedures. Responsibilities, maintenance program (initial and continuing) outside vendors, quality control, parts control, MMEL/MEL, procedures for correcting discrepancies, FAA notification and training are described in this section. For operators who are updating their manual, this section will remain the same.
In addition to the required information in Sections 1 through 4, Assessment Compliance Group, Inc. also provides Regional Supplementary Information for operations outside the U.S. These regions currently include: Bermuda, Canada, Caribbean, Central America, Gulf of Mexico, Panama, and Mexico.
Include all required reporting forms and appropriate agency addresses (Altitude Deviation Report Form, Wake Turbulence Report Form, GPS Outage Form, LRNS Performance Log, Altimeter Accuracy Log, and Postflight Report Forms. The final appendix includes all required RNP-10 guidance: Flightcrew Training, Preflight, Enroute, Contingency, and Postflight Procedures, Non-RNP-10 Procedures and an RNP-10 Maintenance Program
How Soon? All manuals are custom-created per your flight department operational procedures and aircraft equipment (Navigation (LRNS/FMS)/Communications (HF, SATCOM, SAT/AFIS, etc.), RVSM Equipment.
