Category II Operations Manual

This manual is a combination of policy and procedures for use and guidance in conducting and executing Category II operations. The purpose of the Category II Operations Manual is to set forth in a single document the basic responsibilities, limitations, operational procedures, maintenance programs and related instructions for FAA regulatory compliance in conducting Category II operations.

Assessment Compliance Group has been assisting operators with the successful development of a Category II Operations Program acceptable to the FAA. We work closely with the assigned Captain and the Director of Maintenance during the process.

Describes the Methodology and Organization, Documentation and Responsibilities, Compliance, Limitations, and Operational Concept of Category II Operations.

Includes Normal Operations, Airborne and Ground Equipment and Requirements, Low Visibility Takeoff and SMGCS are addressed. A Flight Profile from Preflight Planning through Landing or Missed Approach is described as they relate to Category II operations. Abnormal Procedures are also detailed.

All aircraft Category II related Systems are described along with specific annunciations, messages, and causes.

Assessment Compliance Group, Inc. will ensure, to the greatest extent possible, that the Category II crew procedures and callouts are consistent with the operator’s procedures for Category I operations.

In addition to the above required information, Assessment Compliance Group, Inc. also provides Regional Supplementary Information. This includes Canada, Bermuda, Caribbean (CAR) Region, Gulf of Mexico, Mexico, and Central America.

This section of the manual describes maintenance instructions and operating procedures for the Category II equipment.

Current Operator Flight Log, Aircraft Discrepancy Log, Maintenance Control Log (as appropriate), and Category II Approach and Equipment Record, Airport Signs, and Approach Lighting are included as appendices.
