The RVSM Online Training Program is instructor-led and reflects a high standard of international operating practices. This program is developed from current guidance and the operator's RVSM Operations and Maintenance Manual.

Addresses all regulatory requirements as listed in Advisory Circular 91-85, FAA Order 8900.1 (FSIMS), and the operator’s RVSM Operations Manual and RVSM Maintenance Program. Includes a discussion of policy and procedures for use in planning and executing flights into RVSM airspace.
Describes in detail operations procedures for flightcrews conducting flight into RVSM airspace: DRVSM, Canadian Airspace, Mexico, San Juan FIR, Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico High Offshore Airspace.
Human Factors are discussed along with potential safety risks of unapproved operators. Reporting requirements (Turbulence, TCAS Event, Contingency, or Pilot Error) are presented along with associated forms and agencies.
High level chart symbols, Turbulence Reporting Criteria Table, Mountain Wave Activity (inflight indicators) are reviewed. Strategic Lateral Offset Procedures (SLOP) in San Juan FIR and the Gulf of Mexico are emphasized.
Operator RVSM aircraft specific equipment is presented and discussed along with ATC notification requirements. Pilot / Controller phraseology and TCAS operations in RVSM airspace are also addressed.
Includes basic concepts for contingency procedures in RVSM airspace. Scenarios with pilot actions are included. An example of contingency procedures is: Failure of Aircraft Systems (Autopilot, Altitude Alerter, or all or one Primary Altimeter Systems). Guidance is provided for Mountain Wave Activity and Wake Turbulence.
AGHME is presented along with database and system features: site status, location overview, optimal coverage area, and current weather conditions.
The instructor-led, training program will require access to the Internet and a telephone (with speaker or headset) to dial into the session on the appropriate day. A broadband connection is required. Due to feedback, a headset is required when using Skype.
RVSM Training – 45 minutes
RVSM / WATRS Plus Training – One hour 15 minutes
Available Option
West Atlantic Route System (WATRS) – Plus training is offered in combination with the RVSM Operations Training Program. This is intended for operators flight planning into the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico High Offshore Airspace, New York and San Juan FIRs. This training includes RNP-10.
